My experience at Teachers Learning Centre (TLC) has been truly transformative, shaping me both as a future educator and as a person. From day one, I felt welcomed into a community that was not only committed to academic excellence but also to creating a nurturing and supportive environment. TLC went above and beyond to make sure each student felt valued and equipped to thrive in their journey toward a career in early childhood education. One of the most valuable aspects of the curriculum was its focus on real-world applications. Through assignments, case studies, and hands-on practice, I learned how to design engaging lesson plans, manage a classroom, and create activities that cater to the various developmental needs of children. We also explored important topics like child psychology, behaviour management, and strategies to encourage positive social interactions among children. Each of these components helped me see the importance of approaching education with empathy, patience, and adaptability skills that I know will be invaluable as I enter the field.

A highlight of my time at TLC was working with my facilitator, Chante. Her passion for teaching and dedication to her students made a profound impact on me. Chante has an incredible ability to make even the most complex topics clear and approachable, and she constantly encouraged us to think critically and creatively about our roles as educators. Chante’s genuine care and mentorship made my learning journey even more meaningful, instilling in me a confidence and a commitment to lifelong learning that I will carry forward.

Overall, my experience at TLC has equipped me not only with the technical knowledge required to be a successful early childhood educator but also with the emotional resilience, confidence, and passion to make a difference in the lives of young children.
